Market Goat Rules Are as Follows:

  • Market Goat minimum weight is 55 lbs.

  • Market Goat must be owned and tagged by June 1 of the current fair year.

  • Market Does: Horns will be allowed only in the Market Doe class. Exhibitors with a dehorned doe may choose to enter either the Market Goat class or the Market Doe class. 

  • Market Wethers & Dehorned Market Does: Must follow the existing rule—no horns, with scurs up to one inch acceptable. 

  • Market goats are to have horns blunted before arrival on grounds.

  • Market goats may be either non-bred does or wethers.

  • Market goats must be uniformly slick shorn with 3/8” of hair or less at  arrival on fairgrounds. Hair may be left up to the hocks on knees only.

  • Exhibitors are allowed halters and collars in showing their market goats.

  • Members MUST OWN their animal & be carrying GOAT as a project.

  • There will be only one weigh-in per animal. No weigh-backs.

  • Market Goats MUST weigh-in Tuesday of fair week 7:30-8:30 AM.

  •  (NEW STATE Dehorning rules will be in effect for the UINTA CO. FAIR  starting in 2026)
